Images & Logo Protection

Where are imported images saved in WordPress?

Imported photos are stored on your own website, not loaded from the source. Each image is saved in your uploads folder at wp-content/uploads/mcp-images and added to the Media Library, where you can find, edit or replace it like any other upload.

  • The download is tried up to 3 times.
  • Only real image files are accepted: JPG, PNG, GIF and WebP.
  • WordPress creates its normal sizes (thumbnail, medium, large), so your theme can show the right size on every screen.
  • The photo is set as the post's featured image with ALT text.

Because the files live in your Media Library, your posts keep their pictures even if the source website later removes them. If the uploads folder is not writable or the disk is full, see No image or image download failed.
