RSS Feed Help

What is an RSS or Atom feed, and how does AI AutoPost use it?

An RSS or Atom feed is a machine-readable list of the latest posts of a website. Each item usually has a headline, a link to the article, a date, a short summary and often a photo. Opened in a browser, a feed shows XML text instead of a normal web page.

Feeds are the only input AI AutoPost needs:

  • You paste feed URLs into the Feed URL(s) box of a campaign.
  • On every scheduled run the campaign reads its feeds and takes the next new item.
  • It applies your filters, imports the full article from the source page if you chose Auto-detect full article (recommended), rewrites it with AI if you set that up, adds the image and publishes a normal WordPress post.

RSS and Atom are two formats of the same idea, and both work. News websites, WordPress blogs, Google News, YouTube channels, Reddit, podcasts, Medium and Substack all publish feeds. A website without a feed cannot be used, because AI AutoPost does not scrape pages or connect to social networks or custom APIs. See content sources for examples.
