Technical & Troubleshooting

How do I set up a real server cron job instead of WP-Cron?

A server cron job makes your hosting start WordPress's scheduled tasks every minute, so campaigns run on time even when nobody visits. Your Settings page shows these steps under WP-Cron not firing reliably?

  1. Open your wp-config.php file and add this line above /* That's all, stop editing! */:
    define('DISABLE_WP_CRON', true);
  2. In cPanel Cron Jobs, Plesk, SSH or your hosting panel, add a job that runs every minute:
    * * * * * wget -q -O /dev/null https://yoursite.com/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron
    or with curl:
    * * * * * curl -s https://yoursite.com/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron > /dev/null 2>&1
  3. Copy the exact line from your Settings page; it already contains your site address.
  4. Reload AI AutoPost → Settings and check that Cron Schedule shows ACTIVE and Next Run is no longer overdue.

Do both steps together: with WP-Cron disabled and no server job, nothing runs. If your host does not allow a job every minute, every 5 minutes also works; posts may then be up to 5 minutes late.
