Prompt Help

How does my prompt work together with the built-in writing rules?

Your prompt and AlgoPoint's built-in writing rules are sent together. When a post has an article prompt, the request to the AI contains your [gpt] prompts plus a set of news-writing rules: essential rules used for every article and others picked for each article, so posts are not all written the same way.

When the two disagree, this order applies:

  • Your prompt wins on length, language and format. If you ask for 300 words, Hindi or a bullet-point summary, that is what you get, even if a rule suggests something else.
  • The rules about facts always apply. Names, numbers, dates, places and quotes stay exactly as in the source, and nothing the source does not say is added. A prompt cannot turn this off.
  • Where your prompt says nothing, the rules fill in good habits: the core news in the first paragraph, clear subheadings, short paragraphs, no filler and no clickbait headline.

So keep your prompt focused on what makes your site different — length, language, tone and structure — and do not spend lines repeating basic news-writing rules.
