Article text too short

Why posts or source articles come out short, and how to get the full article and the right length.

Updated 1 view

Short posts usually have one of four causes.

1. Only the feed summary is used

Most RSS feeds contain just 1–3 sentences. If the campaign uses Feed content as-is (usually a short summary), that is all the AI gets.

Fix: In Content Settings, set Content extraction method to Auto-detect full article (recommended). The full article with its headings and images is then imported.

2. The website blocks full article import

Some websites block automatic visits or put the article behind a paywall. AI AutoPost then falls back to the feed text. Paywalls are never bypassed.

Fix options:

  • Try Extract by CSS selector (class or ID) with the article container of that website, for example .article-body. Open an article in your browser, right-click the text and choose Inspect to find the class name.
  • If nothing works, use another source for that topic.

3. The source article itself is short

Breaking news is often only a few lines at first. The AI is told not to add invented details or filler. If the source has too little information, it writes a shorter article on purpose.

Fix: Set the campaign's Minimum word count (for example 120) so very short items are skipped before a credit is used. See Filters - skip keywords, word limits and duplicates.

4. The length setting

The Prompt Builder writes about 300 or 500 words, depending on Article length or the preset. Short News and Breaking News use 300.

Fix: Choose 500 words or the Standard News Rewrite preset, then click Generate Prompt and Publish. In Auto Setup, choose About 500 words under Campaigns made here and click Save & create campaigns.

Posts saved as Draft because they are short

If Content Validation is on, posts below Content — Minimum words are saved as Draft. The Log says Content too short (… words < … min) — saving as draft. Lower the limit or fix the cause above. See Content validation.

The text is cut or has page junk

  • If parts are missing, the auto-detect may have picked the wrong box on that website. Use Extract by CSS selector for that feed.
  • If menu or "also read" text appears, tell support which feed it is.

Check what was imported

Set New Post Status to Draft, use Run Now, and compare the draft with the original article (the Source link at the end).
