Connect your website

Add your website in My Sites, upload algopoint-connector.php, set a password and enter the pairing code. About five minutes.

1. Add your website

Sign in at algopointai.com and open Dashboard › My Sites. Enter a name and your website address (for example https://yournews.com) and press Add website.

The website uses your licence key (the same key as the WordPress plugin, with the same credits), and you get a pairing code like 9VAY-YDRK. The code works for 24 hours and only for this website address. Press Make a new code if it expires.

2. Upload the connector file

Press Download algopoint-connector.php. Upload the file to your website's main folder (the folder with index.php) with FTP or your hosting's file manager.

Your website keeps its pages in a public folder? Put the file there, next to that index.php.

3. Set a password and pair

Open the file in your browser, for example https://yournews.com/algopoint-connector.php.

The page checks your server (PHP version, database, HTTPS, picture download, uploads folder) and finds your database settings by itself in most CMSs. If it cannot find them, enter them (your hosting control panel shows them).

Choose a password for this page (at least 10 characters) and enter the pairing code. Press Save and connect.

4. Back in My Sites

Reload your website's page in My Sites. AlgoPoint now reads your categories and authors. Continue with News topics and categories.

The connector page on your website

Sign in with your password to see:

  • Running / Paused / Not connected, and when AlgoPoint last contacted your website
  • the last 20 posts AlgoPoint added
  • Pause and Resume: while paused, no posts are added
  • Disconnect: AlgoPoint can no longer add posts; posts already added stay
  • Update: shown when a newer connector is ready
  • Change password

After five wrong passwords the page waits 15 minutes.

Remove a website

In My Sites, open the website, tick the box under Remove this website and press Remove website. Then delete algopoint-connector.php and algopoint-connect-data.php from your website.
