The card Posting time — all campaigns on the Auto Setup page sets one schedule for every campaign on your site, not only the ones made by Auto Setup.
The three choices
Each campaign uses its own schedule
This is the default. Every campaign posts according to its own Update Frequency box. See Campaign schedule - frequency, start time and max posts.
Every N minutes / hours / days
Type a number and pick minutes, hours or days. For example Every 2 hours.
- Every campaign tries to add one new post each time.
- This replaces the frequency inside each campaign.
- A campaign's own Start Time still applies.
At fixed times every day
Type clock times separated by commas, for example 09:00, 13:00, 18:00.
- At each time, every campaign adds one new post.
- With 3 times and 5 campaigns you get about 15 posts a day.
- Times use the 24-hour clock (
18:00, not6 PM). - A new campaign waits for the next time on the list.
- The campaign's own Start Time is not used in this mode.
If you leave the times empty or type them wrongly, the page falls back to Each campaign uses its own schedule.
Time zone
All times are in your site time zone. The card shows it, for example Asia/Kolkata. You can change it in Settings → General → Timezone in WordPress.
How you see it in a campaign
When a global posting time is active, each campaign's Update Frequency box shows a blue note like Posting time for all campaigns is set in Auto Setup: every day at 09:00, 13:00, 18:00. with a Change link.
Things to know
- WordPress checks your campaigns every minute, but only when WP-Cron runs. On quiet sites a post can come a few minutes late. A server cron job fixes this. See How scheduling and cron work.
- If the site missed a time (for example no visitors at night), the campaign posts once for the latest missed time, not once for every missed time.
- A campaign only posts if its feeds have a new article that passes its filters.
Tip: For a busy news site, Every 30 minutes or Every 1 hour works well. For slow topics, two or three fixed times a day is enough.
